Our story begins in founder Jorge Valdes’ garage.

Jorge Valdes embarked on his journey into the world of insurance solutions for South Florida business owners back in 1989. Initially tied to a captive company, he found himself restricted in the products he could offer. This limitation wasn’t the only challenge he faced. After witnessing too many clients leave meetings with dazed looks, furrowed brows, and more questions than answers, Jorge vowed to break free from the confusing and convoluted methods of his early industry mentors.

After founding his company, Jorge followed through on his commitment to providing clear and competitive employee benefit packages to business owners. He built up a team of dedicated professionals, leading them by example and modeling honest, approachable, client-focused services. Today, Financial Designs Inc. is renowned as one of the top insurance benefits agencies in all categories since 2000.

Under Jorge’s proprietary personalized approach, clients’ businesses thrived. But there was still something missing: the business owners themselves. As Jorge grew his family and prioritized their financial wellbeing, he realized business owners needed the same sense of security. As clients’ lives and livelihood overlapped, it became impossible for them to focus on their retirement and legacy while growing their business.

Sparking a Family Partnership.

Jorge’s business wasn’t the only thing growing; all this time, so had his daughter, Jennifer Valdes. Following in her father’s footsteps, Jennifer had grown into a finance guru in her own right. From her first day as a 21-year-old unpaid intern onward, Jennifer spent 6+ years working at a large SEC registered investment advisor catering to sports stars and high net worth individuals. By the time she left, they had grown managed assets to over $3B. She worked her way through every single department culminating in a position as head of Financial Planning.

As Jennifer’s increasing experience complemented every growing need of Jorge’s clients, it became clear: it was time for a partnership.
